2002 Highlights: Was named to the Horizon League All-Second Team…broke the UIC school record with 226 career hits…tied the UIC record with 10 career triples…finished the season with a batting average of .407, which was good for 38th in the country…missed 12 games due to a broken hand…put together a 28-game hitting streak during the campaign…tied a Les Miller Field record with six RBI, including a grand slam…scored five runs in a 27-1 victory over Tennessee-Martin on March 8th…went 3-for-3 with three RBI and a homer in a 14-1 win over the University of Chicago…hit safely in 36 out of 42 games…went 2-for-3 with two runs scored in the Horizon League Championship against UW-Milwaukee…went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI in a 14-4 victory over Ball State on March 15th. 2001 Highlights: Was a valuable utility player for the Flames as he played in all 60 games while starting in 57 at first base, second base or center field…compiled a .335 batting average, which was fourth highest on the squad, while driving in 38 and scoring 41 runs…extra base hits included 14 doubles, three triples and six home runs…finished with a .512 slugging percentage while his on-base percentage of .415 was third best on the team…stole 11 bases in 16 attempts to lead the Flames and finish sixth in the MCC…tallied 23 multiple-hit outings and 10 multiple-RBI contests while his 72 total hits were eighth most in the league…upped his batting average to .382 in MCC action with a team-high 16 RBI…hit .353 (6-for-17) during UIC’s four-game sweep of Cleveland State during the regular season…compiled a .571 batting average (8-for-14) in the Flames’ four-game split with UW-Milwaukee…helped UIC sweep its three-game set with Iowa as he batted .500 (5-for-10) with three RBI and three runs scored…his nine-game hitting streak from late April to early May was third longest on the team for the year…during that stretch he batted .581 (18-for-31) with nine RBI and eight runs scored. 2000 Highlights: Did an outstanding job for the Flames as a sophomore, playing both first base and left field and capped off the year with a spot on the All-MCC First Team…compiled a .333 batting average, third-highest on the team, to go along with 40 runs scored and 35 RBI…extra-base hits included 13 doubles, four triples and two home runs…drew 23 walks, which was third-most on the team, and led the Flames with 18 stolen bases in 27 attempts…was tremendous defensively as he sported a .993 fielding percentage, committing just two errors in 284 total chances…in MCC action, he registered a .386 batting average with 16 runs scored and 16 RBI, which were both second most…totaled 16 multiple-hit games during the year and eight multiple-RBI outings…had a tremendous weekend at the plate during UIC's three-game sweep of Iowa as he batted .571 (8-for-14) with nine RBI, seven runs scored, one double, three triples and one home run…hit .450 (9-for-20) against Wright State during the regular season, including a 3-for-5, five RBI showing in UIC's 20-0 win on April 8…was named to the CoSIDA/GTE All-Academic District V Team as well as the MCC All-Academic Baseball Team. 1999 Highlights: As a rookie, he saw time at both first and third base and started in 33 of the 40 games he played in…tallied a .242 batting average and added 28 runs and 15 RBI…tied for the team lead with four sacrifice flies…batted .270 during the spring trip to Florida while he compiled a .275 average in MCC outings…had eight multiple-hit outings with his best night at the plate a 3-for-5, four RBI, four runs-scored showing against Illinois Tech…compiled a .308 batting average against league-champion Butler. Prep/Personal: As a senior, helped Marquette High School to an 18-8 record and the Tri-County Championship as he led the team in batting average (.500), hits (45) and runs scored (33)...was also tops on tops on the squad for doubles (9) and triples (3)...stole a perfect 17-of-17 bases...on the mound, he compiled a 1.54 ERA with 84 strikeouts in 59 innings pitched...finished with a 6-3 record and went on to earn Tri-County All-Conference honors...was selected to play on the Illinois Coaches All-Star Team for the ICA All-Star game...as a junior, led the Crusaders with a .446 batting average to go along with team-bests of 37 hits, 41 RBI, 39 runs scored and 18 extra-base hits...stole 12-of-12 bases...on the mound, he finished with a 2.33 ERA and fanned 42 batters in 48 innings of work...helped Marquette compile a 25-6 overall record which was the most wins ever recorded by a Crusaders squad and was selected most valuable player by his teammates...batted a team-best .462 as a sophomore while he compiled a 3-1 record on the mound as a rookie and earned all-conference accolades during both seasons...also played three years of football and two years of basketball in high school...born September 22, 1980...son of John and Fran Rosner...majoring in history.
